Kim Kardashian Is Getting Roasted for Her “Actors on Actors” Interview

It's safe to say Kim Kardashian's acting career is not taking off with the general public. Earlier this week, Variety unveiled the new cohort of talent chosen for its "Actors on Actors" interview series. The series features two prominent actors in conversation with each other, and one pairing involving the reality TV star is not attracting many fans.

This year's "Actors on Actors" pairings featured Robert Downey Jr. and Jodie Foster,  Jon Hamm and Kristen Wiig, Quinta Brunson and Jennifer Aniston, Elizabeth Debicki and Emma Corrin, Joey King and Taylor Zakhar Perez, and last but not least, Kim Kardashian and Chloë Sevigny, which is causing quite the stir on social media.

As soon as Variety unveiled the pairings for this year's series on Instagram, the comment section began to fill with negative comments criticizing the decision to include Kardashian. "Everything was perfect… until I saw Kim Kardashian," commented a user, with an eye roll emoji.

"To say Kim K is an actress is definitely a reach," someone commented under Variety's original post. "Kim Kardashian is not an actress! I'm sure she is a lovely person — no disrespect intended or hate — but an article on actors on actors, and she is included — NO!" a second one pointed out.

Others echoed the sentiment, writing things like "Kim K has no business being there. She is not an actor," "Having Kim K here is embarrassing....," "Since when K Kardashian has any acting talent … or skill??!!!" and “I only see one actor on the third slide.”

Instead of openly criticizing Kardashian's acting skills, others chose to center Sevigny in their critiques. "Variety done did Chloë Sevigny dirty," someone commented. "Such an insult to Chloë .. pairing a magnetic actor with a Kardashian wtf," a second person added, while a third just opted to write “Justice for Chloë Sevigny.”

In another post highlighting a clip from the video interview where Sevigny discusses the research she did to portray C. Z. Guest in the FX series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, commenters also left messages for Kardashian.

"Kim is a great example of just because u can doesn't mean u should. Influencers need to respect other people's crafts and not just jump into it because they have access. Chloë is so fantastic and I wish she had the chance to converse with a fellow actor," a person pointed out.

Someone else echoed the sentiment, writing, “They did Chloë Sevigny dirty with this one. She is such an iconic actor and a true artist, they shouldn't have paired her with someone who would steal the spotlight and not be able to discuss cinema and acting on her level of artistry.”

"Kim K doesn't understand anything Chloe is saying. Way over her head," someone also added. "This is f*cking sad. She knows nothing of the craft so why does she get to contribute when there are eligible actors everywhere," a third commenter said.

Others went the more quipping route, writing comments like "The SNL skit on this is gonna be GOOD," "Chloë deserves an Oscar for acting like she gives a damn," and "I'd be so pissed if I were an actor and was asked to do an episode of "#ActorsonACTORS" just to get paired with Kim K."

Over on X (formerly Twitter), Variety shared another clip where Kardashian admits she'd be open to doing an accent for a role because she finds her voice to be "so distinct and annoying," which also did not go down well with readers.

"A person on 'Actors on Actors' saying they [would] be open to doing an accent....wow, groundbreaking technique here," someone commented. "Sorry, but this is ridiculous…love Chloë, but why is KK on a show talking about acting???" someone else questioned.
